hectic

Been a long time since I put something in this blog. I was on leave from 26th till 30th June. But fate intervened when my father had chest pains on Saturday 28th and he was admitted to ICU late at night on 29th June. From then on, I was very busy and worried.
He was referred to JPMC on 1st July and they decided to do a cardiac bypass on him. The family was informed by then and we were very anxious. Father was in a lot of pain, and he wanted to get the surgery over with as soon as possible. My siblings were triple anxious and scared as they knew it was a matter of life and death. Here lies the man who grew us up and this is a sudden shock to all of us, his children. Even mother was speechless...
Our relatives poured in after hearing the news. They came from belait, temburong and brunei muara. I was basically touched by their love of father. Anyways, I was also involved during that week with teaching first aid to some brunei shell staff. I texted my supervisor and he told me not to worry about the classes.
The surgeon spoke to us on Wednesday and they decided to operate on my father the following day. On that day, I was running all over to complete my errands before going to JPMC. I didn't sleep the night before. We held a prayer shortly before father entered the OT. Seven hours later, they finished, alhamdulillah, all went well...
Well, I visited father from that day onwards, travelling from seria everyday after my teaching session, reaching JPMC around 6 pm and going back to seria after visiting hour concludes, which is at 9 pm...
Our prayers were answered when father was taken off the ventilator and transferred to the general ward and discharged one day before His Majesty's birthday.
I went to offshore on the 15th July for two weeks. Intended to take leave, but our relief was accepted to join the Ship For Asean Youth. So leave plans are frozen for the time being...
Anyways, father is recovering. I am not exactly swamped with work, just pacing it...kalau disiapkan awal2..nda tah ada kan di buat nanti...hehehehe....

I remembered one Dutch surgeon mentioning in his clinical notes about patients coming to see him in his clinic. The BSP syndrome (Batuk, Selsema, Panas), hehehe...nice jargon to know....
Just did some minor housekeeping on my work email. Lama dah my cousin nda ngantar email. This is a funny picture he sent me.
